Checklist for Competing in a Bodybuilding Show

Here are some tips for for you on reaching fitness goals:

1. Examine your nutrition and exercise records daily. Review your fitness goals weekly. Assess your body composition every three to four weeks.

2. Proper food Intake: To utilize fat stores for energy, the body requires a nutritionally rich diet that is below its caloric maintenance level.

3. Proper Cardiovascular: Exercise activity should be varied in terms of frequency, intensity, and duration to continually mobilize fat stores.

4. Proper Supplementation: An increase in activity without increasing calories creates the need for supplementation. Providing the body with above-maintenance level nutrients feeds lean muscle tissue and allows the utilization of stored calories.

5. Eating every two to four hours will provide your body with the nutrients and energy it needs to contend with daily activities and stress. It will also prevent hunger and overeating.

6. Proper Resistance Training: Strength training will maintain or increase lean muscle tissue if the body is provided with the proper nutrients and calories.

It is always good to review and double-check what you are doing to stay on track

How to WIN a bodybuilding show!

Hi, it's bodybuilding and fitness event producer Brian Cannone.

Do you know Jamel Keels?

I was told about Jamel when he was in college from a girl that went to school with him and she worked the front desk of my gym.

She told me he was interested in bodybuilding and wanted to compete in a show.

She then gave me Jamel's number and said he wanted me to call him to help him compete.

I left so many messages before he finally came to the gym - I did his body fat test and gave him a diet to follow - then he started coming back each week and I helped him with his poses too.

He went on to do a bunch of shows and continues to compete.

He is getting married soon and asked me to write a note about him so I wrote this:

============

"Jamel is jacked, buff, cut, ripped, shredded, diesel, sliced, diced, big, muscular, symmetrical, and huge all because of me - your welcome! :-)

On a serious note - your one of the nicest guys I have come in contact with involved in bodybuilding shows - first-class!"

- Brian

============

When I wrote my new e-course Everything You Need to Know to Compete in a Show I called Jamel to be my speaker and walk people through the steps - he was happy to do it and it is very sincere as it is exactly what I had done for him to get him started.

Check this out as Jamel gives the number one secret to winning a show

Bodybuilding has many things to know to do well and these details come down to training and nutrition but more so -
*What the judges are looking for
*How tan you have to be
*posing
*last week diet adjustments
*divisions and classes

There are things you don't even think of that can come up as you prepare to compete - with so much going on as you train hard why get distracted when you can follow the competition time-line and have no worries?

A Letter from Your Belly Fat

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
www.TurbulenceTraining.com

Dear Friend,

This is a letter from your ol' pal, belly fat. We had a great run this summer, didn't we? Lots of good times, great food, and plain ol' sitting around eating too much.

Well, I'm thinking about sticking around another year if you don't mind. But you might need to get a bigger pair of pants, as I was thinking about expanding my place down here.

So do me a favor, avoid that interval training you were thinking of doing. The last time you did that stuff, I nearly had to look for a new place to live. I felt like the Wicked Witch of the West in the land of Oz. Did you hear me yelling, "Help me, I'm melting!"?

Instead, stick to that slow cardio stuff. Sure I get a little sweaty, and the ol' brain up there thinks it's doing "a real fat burning workout", but it's never enough to melt me outta here.

Another thing, keep listening to those experts who say strength training doesn't burn body fat. Since research shows they're wrong, if you added strength training to your program, you'd practically need to throw me a going away party!

After each one of those superset workouts you tried last January it felt like someone lit a match under our collective butt. I was burning up down here!

But boy oh boy, I sure was glad you gave that up and went back to just lifting utensils and not dumbells. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to celebrate another summer together this year.

Sometimes I wonder, what did you ever do in college without me, your trusted belly fat? Back then, you were probably one of those people that couldn't wait to get to the beach to show off your body, not like these days.

Nope, stay in the shade and keep the cover-up clothes on, that's the way to go now. Besides, its a lot closer to the cold beer and the BBQ when you're sitting in the shade avoiding all the fun down on the beach.

Well, it sure was good catching up with you. I'm sure we'll be in touch more often, as long as you stay away from that Turbulence Training workout routine.

Brings a tear to my eye whenever I even think about that workout program and all the belly fat it's burned. Heck, it's fried more belly fat than a frying pan!

So again, if you want to keep your dear old belly around for another year and another summer, don't use Turbulence Training - otherwise, its all over pal, and you'll never see me again.

Belly Fat says, "Don't use this"

Your friend and spare tire,

Belly Fat

PS - Seriously, don't go near that Turbulence Training program unless you want to see me, Thunder Thighs, Manboobs, Jigg Lee Arm Fat, and Luv Handles pack our bags and hit the highway.

It will be a sad farewell, and you'd be stuck with ripped abs, gorgeous glutes, and toned arms, and you know how much attention those guys get from the opposite sex. Who needs it, I say.

Turbulence Training vs. Body for Life

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
www.TurbulenceTraining.com

Recently I was down in sunny Mesa, Arizona at a seminar that
featured both Sir Richard Branson and Bill Phillips, the author of
the most popular fat loss book ever, "Body for Life" (BFL).

It looked as though Bill hadn't aged a day since his book came out about 10 years ago, so he's doing something right.

Now I get questions all the time asking what's better, "Turbulence Training or Body for Life"?

Well, I'm going to be frank with you, and tell you that Turbulence Training is better, hands down.

Remember, BFL was written about 10 years ago. And a lot has changed since then. Granted, BFL had interval training in it, but it didn't use bodyweight circuits (like you'll find in your bonus workout, the TT DB-BW Fusion program).

These small changes and improvements we've learned in the last few years are enough to make the TT workouts shorter and better. So if you are stuck for time, you have no choice but to go with the program that is constantly being updated with the latest proven workout methods - and that's the Turbulence Training program.

If you have an old copy of BFL lying around, then that might help you for now. But if you want to beat a fat loss plateau, then you'll need all the help you can get, and that includes getting the latest fat loss info found in Turbulence Training.

(Plus, with Turbulence Training you get a lot more bonuses, and a lot less supplement advertising!)

Turbulence Training beats BFL, Turbo Jam, and P90X, all hands down,

Why Bodybuilders Hate Turbulence Training

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
www.TurbulenceTraining.com

Bodybuilders are not a fan of Turbulence Training. I don't know why, but for some reason getting a workout done in less than 45 minutes really ticks them off.

I remember when I first tried out the Turbulence Training 2K3
workout from my TT for Fat Loss manual. It was in the dark and grungy downstairs weight room of System Fitness in the High Park area of Toronto - maybe you've even been there.

Anyways, that gym is full of bodybuilders. And hey, I have nothing against them, but they always gave me a hard time when I went in there and finished my supersets and entire workout so fast they didn't even have time to finish training their biceps.

Perhaps you know how long and slow those bodybuilder isolation workouts are...well no one has time for those anymore.

But the bodybuilders would sit there with their weight belts on
(why did they need a weight belt to do chest exercises?),
sweatsuits, clown pants, and bloated bellies and just stare while I went through my workout and they talked for 5 minutes between sets.

But I still had a lot of fun doing the TT 2K3 workouts back then,
way back in the winter of 2003. It truly is one of my favorite
workouts - and it is one of the TT workouts that gets the most
positive feedback from TT clients.

You'll get an arm pump just as good as any bodybuilding lunk who spends THREE times as long doing all his isolation exercises. But you'll get the extra benefits of working your abs and boosting your metabolism with the total body exercises in the TT 2K3 program.

So don't believe the bodybuilders when they say you have to train a separate body part each day...because that doesn't work for people who live in the real world and have real commitments but still want to burn body fat and build muscle.

Go in there, and show them just how fast you can get a great workout with the TT2K3 workout from the Turbulence Training manual.

You might even convert a few over from the dark side,

PS - Turbulence Training Beats Bodybuilding Programs for Men & Women

"I have been in love with Turbulence Training ever since I started. I am 6'3", 28/M and my starting weight/body fat% was 208 pounds and 18.4% body fat. The mix of weight training with the high intensity intervals is the perfect fitness program. I really didn't believe it would be difficult until I started it. WOW what a burn!! I have finished the TT2K3 and 2K4. In these 5 months, I have upped my dumbell press weight 30 lbs from using 60s to 75s. I can't wait to start TT2K5 next week and see where I can get my bench up to. After 22 weeks of TT, I am now down to 190 lbs and 10.8% body fat."
Nick Walters, New York, NY

"I've done just about everything from Turbo Jam, P90X, to trying to piece together my own workout, but didn't get the results I've seen with Turbulence Training. My problem has always been my legs. No matter what I tried I have never been able to reduce the size of my thighs. I've tried the numerous leg routines featured in countless women's fitness magazines, but nothing worked. But with Turbulence Training I began to notice that my thighs looked smoother and more toned. Even my calf muscles were a lot more shapely. And I started seeing these changes about three weeks into the program. And I got these result without killing myself. The workouts are efficient and
a lot of fun. I recommend this program to any woman who is
struggling to lose that stubborn lower body fat. It is truly a
godsend. A heartfelt thank you."
Andrea Dunham

"Been using TT 4 years, love the newsletters. I use the 2K3 all thetime, started off with the original ages ago. I lost 35 pounds in around 2 years & i'm 38 years old!"

1 Weird Anti-Aging Article

Here's a VERY interesting update from my Partners over at Prograde Nutrition. I just received it myself and I have their permission to share it with you.

****

Lately we've been talking about Caffeine and Coffee and things of that nature as you and I discussed Prograde Metabolism.

(BTW, Metabolism is due back in stock the last full week of May!)

But today I want to talk about Coffee in a different way.

You don't have to read this article on this powerful antioxidant.

But if you're interested in the topic of Anti-Aging you just might want to.

#1 Fitness Book Bestseller

I had read a quote this week that said,

"You are the average of the five people you
hang out with the most."

It made me think hard about the people I spend the most
time with.

Some people I have been able to hang out with actually
have taught me many things that have changed my life
in a very short period of time.

Last year I attended a seminar by Ryan Lee who started
out as gym teacher, turned fitness marketer and now teaches
people how to promote online programs.

At the seminar I was eating lunch with Joel Marion and
Joel had been a Body-for-Life Challenge winner. If you
remember EAS used to run that contest when Bill Phillips
ran the company.

Joel had written an e-book titled Cheat Your Way Thin and
he was learning how to promote it online. That book took off
and Joel became a top writer in the fitness industry.

But as of Today he made history.

This week has been amazing for my friend Joel!

Nearly 20,000 people have grabbed their copy of the
Xtreme Fat Loss Diet System, and it has officially become
a #1 Bestseller! That's HUGE

On to the celebration! To celebrate this monumental
event in his life he has decided to keep the $30 OFF offer
open for a couple more days.

If you haven't secured your
discounted copy like nearly 20,000 people
already have this week, you can still do it at the below link
through Saturday, lose crazy amounts of fat over the next 25
days, and celebrate with us!

Click Here ==> #1 Bestseller Celebration Sale!

Today is a big day for Joel.

He is even going to eat a whole large pizza - ha!

Gotta love the Cheat Days of the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet.

Alright, just wanted to share the news and let you know
that to celebrate he is keeping the offer open for a little
while longer.

Check out his book page because he is now a best selling
author and this book has now sold over One Million Dollars.

Have an awesome day!

A Common Healthy Weight Loss Complaint

If it were easy everyone would be walking around with a lean, sexy body.

But hey, it's not in this world we live in today. Believe me, I understand all too well that there's temptation around every corner.

Everywhere you look there's fast food, junk food, chocolate, candy, ice cream, pizza...

And I know it tastes good. And I know when you get stressed your body craves it even more.

That's why you have to have a plan. You have to know what you're going to do to avoid those temptations. You have to plan your meals in advance.

Again, if this were easy everyone would be thin and in great shape. But they're not.

The first thing to do is come to grips with reality. To accept the fact that getting the body of your dreams is going to take effort.

The second is to understand that it's not going to be miserable. In fact, it's going to be a LOT of fun.

When you exercise you feel awesome. Sure, the weight comes off. But you also feel stronger. You're more alive. You can meet the demands of your day SO much easier.

How is that miserable?

And when you start eating healthier the same thing happens. It really, really is true: you are what you eat.

Now, take a second and really think about that.

What you are putting in your mouth is what your body is using to regenerate itself with all the time.

If you're eating crappy food...

Get the picture ;-)

But don't worry, I've got a really cool and inexpensive resource for you to help you out BIG TIME with your healthy eating.

My partners over at Prograde Nutrition have created this 197 Healthy and Delicious Fat Burning Recipes ebook. It's only $4.95 and I highly recommend it to make healthy weight loss much easier on you.
